Exceptional and fine KACHAN MORTACHEM (Persia) late 19th century
Workshop of the famous weaver Mortachemi
Known for his selection of high quality silky wool.
High quality woollen velvet from lambskin known as: kork on a foundation of cotton warp, weft and fringes.
A double large central geometrically stylized brick and ivory central medallions in the shape of an elongated diamond encrusted with scrolls of fine stems with stylized flowers and foliage surrounded by sky-blue palmettes adorned with two stylized cabochons.
Four beige spandrels reminiscent of the central medallion
Seven borders, the main one being midnight blue with petal caissons and geometrically stylized floral buds
Density: approx. 10,000 knots per dm2. Remarkable finesse.
