Portrait of King Ferdinand III, King of Castilla y Leonr
Oil on panel with a number 4 in the upper right and the stencil mark of the Château d'Eu and the crowned LPO stamp. On the back there is also an inscription describing the model: "Ferdinand III, King of Castile & Leon, son of Alfonso IX, King of Leon & Galicia & Berengaria of Castile, his second wife : born in 1200: married I in 1219 or 1220, to Beatrix of Swabia: in 1237 or 1238 to Jeanne de Dammartin, Countess of Ponthieu & d'Aumale: died on 30 May 1252: canonized by Pope Clement X on 15 February 1671.”
