Captain's chair, literally "captain's chair". Ash, elm and beech varnished. Ash for the wide carved seat. The arched backrest is extended by wide armrests. Turned wooden legs, uprights and crossbeams. England circa 1860. Height 81.5 cm, maximum width at armrests 68 cm. Beautiful patina. Note: these chairs have the characteristic of having very wide open feet to ensure remarkable stability and comfort.
