These two volumes contain on the cover pages poems by Baudelaire (Spleen and Ideal), copies of the hand of André Breton's grandfather (3 pages), as well as a biography of Ernest Renan (3 pages) and an extract from the Martyrs of Chateaubriant (3 pages), also in ink from Breton's grandfather.
AUTOGRAPHIC NOTE IN PENCIL BY ANDRÉ BRETON: "Copy from the hand of my grandfather Pierre Le Gouguès. AB."
It is interesting to note that Breton's grandfather already appreciated Baudelaire's poems.
