MANUSCRIPT - SALINE
Notices about my trip to Paris from the 4th of May 1803, the day I left Vevey, until the 18th of June, when I was back.
S.l., n.d., (1803-1893), petit in-4, 204 pp., [30] ff. blank, rigid half calfskin with corners, smooth dumb spine, slices alternately coloured blue and red (19th century rel.).
Good copy. Only the first 36 pages of our manuscript correspond to the title, and still only in a very partial way, as we will see below; all the others, covered with writings by various staggered hands from 1847 to 1893, form an extraordinarily heterogeneous anthology of poems, texts, quotations, which correspond to as many memories of readings, without it being possible to determine what connects the copyists of these fragments to the author of the relation placed in the head.
The latter is highly incomplete, and only covers the first stages of a journey from Vevey to Paris: in fact, the description, after that of Pontarlier, only really lingers on Salins and its saltworks.
