The most beautiful illustrated edition of Kim, a novel in which the author gives a vivid painting of India, seen by an adventurous young boy who runs ahead of all the experiences of life. The illustration consists of 57 admirable colour compositions by François-Louis SCHMIED (1873-1941), i.e. 15 plates, including the frontispiece, all signed by the artist, 15 large pictorial bands, 15 gold and silver lettering and 12 lamp bases, one of which is in the imprimatur. Only 160 copies of this sumptuous publication were printed, all numbered and signed.
