KACHAN (Persia), mid-20th century
The Boteh has pride of place on this carpet. Symbols of life, stylized drop of water, cypress,... it is the floral symbol of love, the imaginary Persian rose. The creamy field of this carpet is covered with it, like a well-ordered seedling. The border is a succession of them as well. As for the counter-borders, they are decorated with small Botehs that are found alternately in the middle of the multicoloured Botehs of the field. The four bluish highlights are, as you might have guessed, garlanded with staggered miniature Botehs. Nice sobriety.
