AVAR (Caucasus-Dagestan), late 19th century
An abrasive blue serrated field welcomes the ivory contours of a two-compartment floral medallion, decorated with entomological brick vegetalized forms. Small star-shaped flowers complete the set. The main ivory border, is a series of stylised cruciform flowers, segmented by opposing arrowheads. It is flanked by two geometrically garlanded counter-edges, all in beautiful polychromy. Two-tone saw-tooth external braid.
Provenance and decoration, rare.
