DAGHESTAN (Caucasus), late 19th century A serrated ivory field, with a flowery mihrab, houses an anthracite honeycomb latticework where each cell is decorated with a polychrome flower on a stem. Comb, weaver's scissors and other small symbols complete the decor. The frame is composed of two anthracite floral borders, another anthracite and navy sawtooth, another old gold with stylized star-shaped flowers brick, and a main brick with a succession of multicolored "double S".
