HEREKE in natural silk, signed and numbered (Asia Minor), mid-20th century
A royal blue field hosts an interlacing of delicate polychrome flowering stems forming, in its centre, a cruciform plant composition. The ruby border is made up of multicoloured blooming corollae laid on garlands of flowers. Two ivory counter-edges complete the frame. Royal blue outer stripe. Box marked "Héréké" and workshop serial number woven on the upper warp (fringes).
