FACHRALO (Caucasus-Armenia), late 19th century
An ivory box, highlighted with bluish brackets, Kotchaks (ram's horns) and "S" on a brick background, has at its heart a flower with large cruciform petals, surrounded by small Medes stars and other multicoloured brackets. It is placed on a jagged brick field, sown with flowers, small crosses and other symbols. It is surrounded by hooked triangular shapes, stylized plants, polychrome rhombic nesting medallions and two ivory cross niches (symbolizing the ends of a church). The frame is composed of two bluish and navy blue counterborders following "S", flanking the main one with a stack of stylized flowers. Two-coloured sawtooth external braid in positive/negative. Two small cartouches dated 1313 A.D. (1891 A.D.) complete the set.
Remarkable together.
