Ceremonial rings presenting the octopus eagle god in full flight, the wings and tail turning into several tentacles. Gold, cut, hammered, embossed and assembled. Discreet traces of red pigments. Chavin, Tembladera, Jequetepeque Valley, Peru. 700 to 400 B.C. 7.1 x 6 x 3 cm; 7.1 x 6.1 x 2.3 cm.
