Crystal. Brand: "Cristal Saint Louis France" engraved with acid. Excellent state of preservation, excluding 2 saucers with minimal chipping The service takes its name from the star carved on the bottom of each crystal. These chalices radiate light like a star, through the zigzag facets that run across the surface and the arabesque bands of gold that decorate the edges spreading a magical sparkling light on the table All the pieces are blown by mouth, carved and hand decorated in one of the oldest manufactures. The Münzthal glassworks, the oldest in France, was founded in 1586 and in 1767 King Louis XV of France gave it the prestigious name of "Verrerie Royale de Saint-Louis". Fifteen years later he began to produce crystal and in 1829 he devoted himself exclusively to this production, taking the name of "Cristallerie Royale de Saint Louis": the first European crystal factory.
