The mythological decoration and the garland decoration This decoration will be the triumph of the Olerys and Laugier workshop. Indeed, Olerys will propose a completely new formula composed of garlands and floral motifs painted on the perimeter of the wing.
In the centre, a medallion is circumscribed by a border composed of flowers and sometimes rock elements. Inside, Olerys placed a new mythological setting, in line with the evolution of the taste of the period. Born in antiquity, the garland motif is not a new element in the history of decorative arts. It will continue as a decoration of the Moustiers earthenware from about 1743 to 1790. This garland motif can be accompanied either by a mythological medallion, a central bouquet or a void.
