Good copy, enriched by an autograph letter from Nodier's son-in-law, Jules Menessier-Nodier, dated April 13, 1845. He refers to two autographed pieces by Charles Nodier glued to the binding guards. The first is a copy of a correspondence from the Orient by Mr. Michaud, the other a short study on Augustin Nicolas (1622-1695), author of "an admirable treatise on torture".
