Curious neck medallion with padlock and its gold key, containing an oval miniature representing a quality woman in a frontal bust, monogrammed on the reverse side with "CK" hair, the medallion opens in two parts. It is kept closed at the top by a tiny padlock with a key at the bottom. A chain to which is suspended from the key. Weight: 7 g. 36 x 23 mm. B.E. End of the 18th century. Provenance: Descendance of Marshal Davout, Duke of Auerstaedt, Prince of Eckmühl.
