Saint John the Baptist in lime tree (?) carved... Lot 43

Saint John the Baptist in lime tree (?) carved and polychrome, dug back. Standing, he points with his right index finger at the lamb lying on a closed book carried by his left hand; head with mid-long wavy hair and bifid beard; beautiful face slightly emaciated with a pensive look; he is dressed in the melody surrounded by a cord and a coat with brittle and deep folds on the sides. Middle Rhine ?, late 15th century Height: 82 cm (some old restorations including the tip of the right foot, the terrace and probably the right hand)
