BURNING PAIR IN THE FORM OF DUCKERS made of beautiful dark bronze patina with traces of gilding, represented standing at the top of openworked rocks, the head slightly turned, the beak ajar showing a small curved tongue, the plumage suggested by means of fine incisions, the back openworked with a stylized and gilded sapèque motif. (An old accident on one of the legs). China, Ming dynasty (1368-1644). Two wooden bases. A PAIR OF BRONZE'DUCKS' CENSERS AND COVERS, CHINA, MING DYNASTY. HIGH. 21 CM (8 1/4 IN. )PROVENANCE John Sparks, London, based on the original invoice dated February 12, 1938 that will be attached to the perfume burners.
