BUDDHA MUCHALINDA'S STATUETTE in lacquered and gilded bronze, depicted sitting in dhyanasana on the naga king whose head and seven hoods shelter him from the flood, his hands in dhyanamudra, his chest bare, a torque around his neck, the lobes of his ears elongated, his forehead adorned with a tiara, and his head in slight relief at the back.
