Printed in German Gothic characters, it is decorated with 7 pretty copper-engraved plates, some of which unfold, representing chemical experiments, distillation apparatus, furnaces, etc. A figure on copper p. 514 for seven chemical symbols.
The copy is entitled the handwritten ex-libris of Protais d'Alt (1620-1683) (Protasius Alt 1671), Grand Chancellor of Freiburg in 1680, which had gathered a vast library of scientific and legal works.
A symbolic figure and the title were later painted on the back. Slight marginal wetting, freckles.
