Antigone. Les Mariés de la Tour Eiffel (Paris, Éditions de la Nouvelle Revue Française, Libraire Gallimard, 1928); in-12, paperback (unspoken, first and last leaves dirty).
Corrected copy for reissue.
Original edition of Antigone, one of the 16 copies out of print on Lafuma-Navarre pure vellum yarn (issue f).
Cocteau has made about fifty autograph corrections in this copy, also annotated (and somewhat dirty) by the typographers.
There are also two pen drawings: the first on the finished printing sheet representing a hand holding a paper on which is written: "To the impossible I am bound", the second on the back cover representing a sailor in profile under whom Cocteau wrote and crossed out, on two occasions, the word "naive".
The covers are covered with autograph notes: "Review all the text in terms of composition, letters, words, lines, punctuation, etc... Especially the Barbette No. JC. Delete the first "from the same author" which has no meaning for 3 years. Main errors pages 67-68-83-85-85-90-119-152- ?" On the second cover plate: "Corrected copy. - Given the enormous number of mistakes I probably let some pass. Have a careful proofreader proofread".
