Le Prince Frivole (Paris, Mercure de France, 1910); in-8, paperback, under Claude Labarre's cardboard folder. Original edition of Cocteau's second collection, on publishing paper (after 12 numbered copies on Holland); the proof is printed in green ink and represents a female hand holding a rose. Signed autograph: "To Maurice Magre from whom I have just read with charmed emotion the wonderful: MEDUSE !! with all my heart Jean Cocteau". Cocteau published his second collection of poems at the age of 21, composed in the summer of 1909. Maurice MAGRE (1877-1941), novelist, poet and playwright, a great opium addict like Cocteau, presented, on December 22, 1911 at the Monte-Carlo Opera, Medusa, a marine legend in four acts set to music by Reynaldo Hahn.
