Pigr. d. c. on 4 frets over wooden covers with stroke lines and roller stamps as well as 1 clasp (v. 2) (abraded, lower back with repaired missing part). Sixth (5th Mainzer and first complete) edition of the German Livius translation. - Adams L 1359. - Goed. II, 320.8 - Roth, Schöffer 185, 10 - VD 16 L 2107 - The German translation of the first Augsburg edition by Bernh. Schöfferlin and J. Wittich (1523) was edited in the present edition by Nicolaus Carbach and Jacob Micyllus. The woodcuts with war and battle scenes, landscapes etc. are attributed to Konrad Faber von Kreuznach (cf. E. Thormälen in Gutenberg-Jb. 1934, p. 137ff.). - Forward. Inside cover with ownership entry and marginal notes, behind with old title description glued in, a little bit browned, situated note and paintwork, some pages loosened, some backings, finger- and lower margin partly waterstained. 6th edition of the German Livius translation. - 4 parts in 1 vol. With 4 woodcut titles, numerous (partly identical) text woodcuts and woodcut printer's mark. Contemp. pigskin with four raised bands over wooden boards and 1 (of 2) clasps (chafed, lower spine with defect). - Front inner board with ownership entry and marginalia, back inner board with mounted old title description, some browning, occ. annotations, some leaves loosened, some backings, fingerstained throughout, lower margins partially waterstained. *
