Washington 27 June 1962, Jacqueline Kennedy thanks Malraux for the Khmer statue. She cannot fi nd the words in French to say how much she adores the gift.
Ravello 26 August [1962]. She is moved by Malraux’s project to lend the Portrait of the Artist’s Mother by WHISTLER to the Museum of Atlanta.
Washington 20 January 1963, relative to the loan of the Mona Lisa to the National Gallery of Art of Washington (this loan was very controversial and Malraux had decided in favour of the loan against the curators).
