Signed autograph letter, signed « Ernest », Finca Vigia, San Francisco de Paula Cuba 30 October 1952, to Bill LENGEL, on letterhead stationery of “Finca Vigia”; 1 page in-4 format (slight splitting to fold); in English.
Hemingway is sorry he hasn’t replied to Bill Lengel’s telegram who is offering a proposal for a film based on one of Hemingway’s works: “...If you have a project with details would you please send it to me and I will forward it to my lawyer who is handling this. Unless all this goes through channels it gets balled up...” Hemingway congratulates Lengel on the success of Gold Medal Books launched in 1950. Lengel was the editor of this innovative publishing venture which successfully introduced paperback originals.
