Buddha Gautama Sakyamuni shows a youthful face with lowered lids, the small mouth is surrounded by a tender smile. The head and "ushnisa" (symbol of his ultimate wisdom) are covered with accurately worked curls and are crowned by a separately worked lotus bud. The elongated earlobes reflect his royal origin.
