The moonflask is decorated with two handles shaped as qilin, the two flat sides are decorated with circular panels, one depicting flowers and birds amongst rocks, the other with prunus and pomegranate below butterflies in flight. The panels are divided by bats and scrolling lotus on a yellow ground below a ruyi-head band to the neck and a lappet band to the foot. The base with an apocryphal Qianlong seal mark in iron red to the base.
