‡ A FINE GREEK DECORATED SILVER-GILT HOLSTER FOR A PAIR OF KUBUR PISTOLS, EARLY 19TH CENTURY the outer face covered with red velvet faced with a pierced and chased silver-gilt panel decorated with a symmetrical design of scrolling tendrils, flowers and foliage enclosing a central architectural panel 30.5 cm; 12 in Openwork designs of this type were popular on domestic items made in the Ionian Islands and are also encountered on firearms such as blunderbusses.
