État de Washington, Cascade Region – Salish – ca. fin XIXème siècle.
Belle vannerie finement tressée, à motifs en flèches et rectangulaires alternées de différentes teintes (couleurs naturelles). On remarque deux types de tressage (twill plaiting et rod coiling) fait de différentes essences végétales : cedar root (racine de cèdre), bear grass (herbe d’ours) et wild cherry bark (écorce de cerisier sauvage). H. 13 cm, L. 21,5 cm, l. 61,5 cm. Très bon état.
Collection : Jean LANTERNIER (1901-1976) et depuis dans sa descendance.

Beautiful finely plaited basketry, patterned in arrows and alternating rectangulars of different shades (natural colors). There are two types of braiding (twill plaiting and rod coiling) made of different plant essences: cedar root, bear grass and wild cherry bark. H. 13 cm, L. 21.5 cm, l. 61.5 cm. Very good state.
