Richard Serra (Né en 1938)

Transmitter the monumental sculpture by the American artist Richard Serra (born in 1938) weighs in at 210 tons and measures 13.2 ft high, 58.2 ft wide, 69.10 ft long. It was specifically designed for an exhibition at the Gagosian Gallery in Le Bourget and will be on display until spring 2022.

The new building at the museum in Potomac, MD is a collaboration between architect Thomas Phifer and artist Richard Serra and contains Serra’s Four Rounds: Equal Weight, Unequal Measure (2017). This is Serra’s 3rd monumental sculpture at Glenstone, alongside Sylvester (2001) and Contour 290 (2004). (David Zwirner)

Leading American artists contributed new work to the recently launched ‘Enough of Trump’ campaign. The artworks are downloadable and for sale on the campaign’s website, all proceeds going to the People for the American Way. Ed Ruscha, Richard Serra and Carrie Mae Weems are among participating artists.
