Mariano Andreu (1888-1976)

Designer Wendy Andreu battles the elements and metal. Working for Rimowa, she shaped their aluminum into a table ready to take to the skies.

Damaged by rising waters in 2019, the 15th-century Gothic palace - transformed into a workshop by Mariano Fortuny and his wife and then donated to the City in 1956 - had to close. It had been under restoration since 2022. Located in Campo San Beneto, it is one of the largest palaces in Venice.

Amassed by an impassioned enthusiast, one of the largest private French fashion collections will soon be rousing the desires of other connoisseurs – especially since some of its key pieces have already appeared in memorable exhibitions.
