Berthe Morisot, the great-great-niece of Fragonard? No, despite the rumors encouraged by her daughter Julie! Art historian Claire Gooden and genealogist Antoine Lefort conclusively dispel the myth with irrefutable evidence presented in this lucid exhibition.

As she wrote to Mallarmé, it was upon seeing posters for Brittany that Berthe Morisot decided to spend a vacation there at the end of the summer of 1894. La Roche plate au Portrieux is from a series of oil paintings dedicated to this Breton beach. Beaussant-Lefèvre is offering it at €120,000/150,000, at Drouot, June 3.

Three works by Miró, watercolors by Dufy and paintings by Utrillo and Renoir will surround this oil on canvas by Berthe Morisot.
