Wall painting believed to be by Dürer discovered above giftshop in Viennese cathedral

Experts suspect that the painting, a two-dimensional triptych altarpiece found on a wall above the giftshop in St. Stephen’s Cathedral, was by Albrecht Dürer’s hand, suggesting an unrecorded visit to Vienna in approximately 1505. It is thought that other artists completed the painting on top of Dürer’s underdrawing.
