Theodoric the Great’s Mosaic Unearthed in Verona

A floor mosaic thought to be part of a villa owned by the 6th century Ostrogothic ‘emperor’ has been discovered in Montorio, near Verona, during work to replace gas pipes. Verona’s cultural heritage superintendent Vincenzo Tinè wants to “systematize” this and other finds from the area over the past decades. (ANSA)
