La tireuse d'épine (The Thorn Puller), by the French sculptor Ponce Jacquiot (1515-1570) recently sold for €1,460,500 (including expenses) at Beaussant Lefèvre, and has been preempted by the Louvre Museum. The estimate was €100,000. Long believed lost, this bronze was spotted by a collector at an auction in 1976.
