Sweden: Maritime Archaeologists Make Long-Awaited Discovery

An archaeologist from the Vrak – Museum of Wrecks in Stockholm has finally found the remains of the Swedish warship Äpplet. King Gustav II Adolf commissioned the vessel in 1625, and four years later it was launched to help fight in Thirty Years War (1618-1648). Its sister warship, Vasa, was discovered in 1961.
