In May 2018, Paul Signac’s 1915 painting Le port de la Rochelle was stolen from Nancy's Fine Arts Museum. The work, valued at €1.5 M, was recovered in April 2019 in Ukraine amid an investigation into the assassination of a jeweler, and has now, at long last, been returned to its home in northeastern France.
