Restitution claim by Jewish art dealer’s grandson strengthened by new document

A note from a Paris archive stating “Stettiner family. Stolen. Sought in America” refutes the claim by David Nahmad, the current owner of Amedeo Modigliani’s Seated Man with a Cane, that it is not the same painting that Oscar Stettiner was forced to leave behind when fleeing the Nazi invasion of Paris.
