The Self-Portrait Yellow-Pink of 1943 by the expressionist painter sold for €20.7 million last Thursday at Grisebach in Berlin. It is the highest price struck at auction in Germany, the previous record was also held by a Max Beckmann painting, The Egyptian had sold in 2018 for €4.7M.
