Eureka, "Grand-Prix course" EK 10 car, no. 618, May 1948, length 155 cm/61 in, weight 29 kg/63.9 lb.
Result: €30,200

The brand clearly arouses wonder even today, for 99.5% of the lots were sold last Saturday. The Eure-based manufacturer's sophisticated models were the envy of generations of children, but very few of them were lucky enough to actually drive one of these pedal cars. Now, with the sale of the collection of its managers, the Grandvoinnet family, you could take the wheel of a superb EK 10, one of the 650 "Course Grand-Prix" models produced between 1929 and 1950—if you had €30,200 on hand. The car succeeded the "Course 28". Equipped with openwork wheels and two levers (one for braking, the other for disengaging the clutch), the mini-racer was fitted with real inflatable tires and radiators supplied by car brands, including Panhard, the French automobile maker founded in 1887. This star of children's cars even had its own races, some staged in Paris. The one here, no. 618, produced in May 1948 (length 155 cm, weight 29 kg/61 in, 63.9 lb), is in mint condition and still sports its mascot: a winged arrow.
