The Parisian institution acquired La Pétroleuse vaincue by Italian artist Giacomo Ginotti, thanks to the patronage of Lavazza France. The imposing bronze from 1887 is "a major work of 19th-century Italian art", and recalls the role of women in the Paris Commune. The sculptor of social verism is little known in France.
