As often with stars, they are saving their entrance for the grand finale. This anthropomorphic cane top (see photo) belongs to a group of three statuettes attributed to the same sculptor from the Tsonga people. They have an extremely simplified style, but highly varied expressions. The spherical head echoes a perfectly cylindrical neck, bust and legs and curved calves, and the hairstyle follows the line of the ears in a semicircle. Estimated…
