“Lucien Freud: New Perspectives” has recently opened at the National Gallery in London. The exhibition, however, chooses to steer clear of details of the artist’s personal life, veering away from any mention of Freud’s countless lovers, his estimated 14 children and the allegations that he overpowered models.
