Peter Max, the artist whose work came to define the psychedelic aesthetic of the seventies, has been suffering from advanced dementia linked to Alzheimer's since at least 2019. Guardianship was placed with Barbara Lissner, however, Max’s children are attempting to wrestle control in a number of lawsuits.
