Gérard Fromanger passed away on Friday in Paris, at age 81. He was one of the great representatives of narrative figuration. Fromanger was politically engaged and known for his paintings populated with red silhouettes - his favorite color. The Centre Pompidou had devoted a retrospective to him in 2016.
