Like many of the pieces produced in the workshops of Magna Graecia, Greece (the Hellenic colonies of Southern Italy) in the 4th century BCE, this large crater from Apulia is a true spectacle. Several scenes, painted on its glazed terracotta sides are played out simultaneously, animated by red figures of both sexes highlighted in white, yellow and purple.
