The oil on canvas made in 1935 in Deauville, a few strokes of the oars from Le Havre, the painter's native port, aroused the interest of amateurs, not the least intimidated by its estimate of 100, 000/150, 000 €. With the wind at its back, the painting collected €422,400 on Nov. 6, during a closed-door sale by Ader.
