In the past half-year at Hôtel Drouot, 59 auctioneers held 393 sales netting a total amount of €200.5 M, surpassing the 2019 figure by 2.3%.

The average total amount per sale rose by 18.8% compared to the first half of 2019. All told, 153 artworks overshot the symbolic €100,000 mark (up 10% compared to 2019). Eleven sold for more than €500,000 and four for over €1 million. Lalanne's Grand Canard (Big Duck), which on April 12 fetched €1,963,000 at Gros & Delettrez, set the record for the first six months of this year. Drouot's digital platform consolidated its leading position in continental Europe for auctions of artworks and collectibles: the 543 client auction houses offered 900,000 artworks and decorative objects in over 2,900 live and online sales.
