In 2014, the museum received 600 works - by Warhol, Baselitz and Kiefer in particular - from the collection of Mario Bertolini, who died in 2020. His sole heir is seeking to cancel this donation to the city of Milan, which is in charge of the institution, for failing to fulfill a contractual obligation.
