Italian semiologist and art critic, he curated the 43rd Venice Biennale (1988) and the IX Documenta in Kassel (1992). Curatorial advisor to the sculptor Davide Rivalta since 2018, he has published interviews with Adel Abdessemed, who enjoyed a retrospective at the Centre Pompidou in 2012.
